FM Global is a rock solid insurance company that shares its success with policyholder-clients and employees. The company thrives on long-term relationships (clients and employees) which ultimately contribute to its success. FM Global's strong business model is resilient to both strong and weak economies. The company values its employees and rewards them appropriately through comprehensive benefit plans and compensation. Having worked for several other companies in various industries, I can attest that FM Global is THE BEST and an employer I am proud to call mine.

Svantaggi

The company is methodical and sometimes slow-paced which some employees may find frustrating. Ultimately, it may be a key reason FM Global remains financially strong and very stable company through its commitment to core business principles. Some disciplines such as marketing have undefined careers paths, although the company is exceptional in hiring from within and providing unlimited career opportunities to its employees.

* Great business model at the foundation * Solid compensation program: Base salary + bonus * Sustained high profitability over the long term * Stable employement * Pension Plan

* Extremely hierarchical and regimented * Promotions based on favortism rather than true merit. Employees are precategorized and stigmatized on their ability for future career progression. * Extremely focused on metrics and internal objectives. This leads to box checking, cutting corners and bending rules to meet the numbers. * Extremely heavy workload. No work-life balance. * Management doesn't really incorporate employee feedback; they pretend to to check a box. * Quality of job suffers to keep up with quantity. Everything is becoming data driven and the data is often wrong. Enormous pressure to hit a button and accept at face value whatever the system spews out. * Our CEO builds fancy gold plated office buildings that aren't needed and pulled the plug on hybrid work to justify the investment in the real estate.
