Vantaggi

Lots of job stability, Easy to transfer to another Operations around the country & world, 401k match, Pension plan, Company car with bottomless gas tank

Svantaggi

- Base salaries are lower than average. There also doesn't seem to be much adjustment for different costs of living from office to office. - This is the only company that tries to put a dollar value on benefits when it comes to calculating your total compensation. I understand that benefits cost the company money, but the only compensation I care about is the compensation that pays my bills (i.e. my base salary). - While there have been no layoffs during this Recession, our managers have not replaced those who have left or been promoted. Instead, they have simply redistributed the workload. This has resulted in a lot of stressed-out employees who probably wish they had been laid off. - Everyone gets the same score on Performance Appraisals - "Meets Expectations". There is not much motivation to go above and beyond. - The company has a habit of rehiring those who quit and then giving them a higher job title than when they left. This alienates those who remain loyal to the company.

Vantaggi

* Great business model at the foundation * Solid compensation program: Base salary + bonus * Sustained high profitability over the long term * Stable employement * Pension Plan

Svantaggi

* Extremely hierarchical and regimented * Promotions based on favortism rather than true merit. Employees are precategorized and stigmatized on their ability for future career progression. * Extremely focused on metrics and internal objectives. This leads to box checking, cutting corners and bending rules to meet the numbers. * Extremely heavy workload. No work-life balance. * Management doesn't really incorporate employee feedback; they pretend to to check a box. * Quality of job suffers to keep up with quantity. Everything is becoming data driven and the data is often wrong. Enormous pressure to hit a button and accept at face value whatever the system spews out. * Our CEO builds fancy gold plated office buildings that aren't needed and pulled the plug on hybrid work to justify the investment in the real estate.
