Vantaggi
If you're into sports, it can be pretty cool. Most of the lower-level employees (Segment Producers and below) are awesome to work with. FOX is very corporate, so with that comes an excellent benefits package, and management was always cool about taking time off, provided it wasn't during the holidays or major championship weeks. Also, free snacks.
Svantaggi
Depending on the show, you're expected to work whenever sports are happening. So no free nights, weekends or holidays... this is, of course, to be expected if you're set on a career in sports, but full-time employees regularly pull 16- to 18-hour days and 6-day workweeks (and this is especially true during big broadcasts of FOX properties... the World Series, NASCAR, UFC etc). There are VERY few women working behind the camera that are anywhere above PA or AP level... not a single female line producer, only a couple directors, and save for one in Features, *zero* in any coordinating/executive producer (or similarly managerial-type) spots. The new executives have, as many outlets have alluded to, sought to make FS1 the "edgy" ESPN-alternative, which has amounted to hiring festering discharge like Colin Cowherd (!) and Jason Whitlock (!!), and stressing a debate-centric platform (à la First Take) for most shows, as opposed using stats (or logic) to convey information. Advancement depends largely on social standing (or, in some cases, how well you flirt), rather than ideas or output.
