Because this is a small healthcare facility (25 bed hospital, rural clinic, laboratory, radiology, etc) you really learn who everyone is. Also, they had specialized doctors come in for minor surgeries which made it more convenient for the citizens in the rural community and surrounding communities.

Because it is a rural hospital, the payscale for some like secretaries, billing, CNA folks was okay, but not what it would be in a large city. But, you didn't have to drive far to work!

working along side people who care when dealing with long-term residents

pay, lack of financial growth opportunity, poor leadership--don't prove that they have practical knowledge to back up their high-level decisions and pay.
