Vantaggi
Stability (firing people is rare), good insurance/medical packages (DKV and Generali), education reimbursement (3,000 USD/yr), nice & easy to reach location (when based in Brussels downtown).
Svantaggi
Except for sales, no gatherings/parties, so socialising with other departments is difficult. Lack of opportunities to apply new skills; besides, openings in Belgium will be transferred to UK, IN, and PL, so employees won't be able to move to other teams (seems that they are trying to close the Belgian EMEA headquarters). Slow career progression, decided arbitrarily by a manager (in my experience, fully influenced by lobbying & favoritism rather than valuing the employee's capabilities). Lack of governance and training to managers. Extremely hierarchical company, making day to day operations cumbersome, not allowing innovation. Difficult to reach location (when based in Brucargo office). IN A NUTSHELL: the paycheck is good, the job is (too) stable, but the management and HR styles are very old fashioned. Talk to different people in the team (both current and former employees) you intend to join to know more about the projects, management style, team atmosphere, and career opportunities.
