Vantaggi

Good benefits package (for perm staff) Good work-life balance (in theory, but depends on the team)

Svantaggi

Typical public sector culture full of red tape... Highly political and hierarchical - executives not talking to the bottom of the ladder Little transparency Management not accountable for anything Blame culture No innovation Lots of conflicting, misaligned business rules that are not governed properly, lots of complexity No budget for training Miserable people, no team spirit High turnover in some teams No career progression - highly competent and motivated staff are rarely promoted by their managers and usually end up leaving Unrealistic expectations from management - they don’t want to admit that they haven’t got enough budget and/or that they misjudged the complexities

Vantaggi

Competitive salary compared to similar organisations

Svantaggi

The culture of this organisation has deteriorated significantly recently. What was once a positive, flexible and collaborative environment has been replaced by one that is toxic, negative and one of blame. Senior leaders do not take accountability, refuse to make even the most basic of decisions and micro-manage at every opportunity, leaving everyone beneath them stressed, frustrated and fearful of making a mistake. The higher up the chain you go, the worse these problems are. The CEO and Executive have completely unrealistic expectations, change their minds continuously and refuse to listen to the opinions of the experts they have hired beneath them. Paired with company-wide loss of the ability to work compressed hours, rumours of 40% attendance in the office due to be rising to 60% and a stricter bonus policy, and you're left with a culture that is not only worse to work in but wants more out of you for less. There are still many dedicated and talented people working here, but the culture and leadership approach have made it a much less enjoyable place to work than it once was.
