Svantaggi
Four years under the current leadership, and despite the rhetoric of "transformation," the reality is that nothing of substance has been achieved. What was once a company on the rise is now in free fall. More layoffs are blatant evidence that things are far from improving yet leadership retain carte blanche to ruin the business and hard working peoples livelihoods. What truly sums up the failures of this leadership is rather than acknowledging the issues within the organisation, the current crisis was used as a personal PR opportunity, posing for The Guardian to push a narrative of "craft" and "heritage” while touting these values with the introduction of increasing amounts of plastic into our product lines. Comments were made on the industry’s decline and comparison of Wedgwood to other struggling brands from Stoke-on-Trent as an attempt to deflect from failures. 2023 saw new partnerships, reinvigorated product line and an overall sense of optimism but instead of capitalising and building on this success, leadership inexplicably halted everything, leaving us spinning our wheels for the past 18 months with no clear direction. That pause was a critical mistake, and now, those same individuals who failed to deliver in the past are trying to control a re-bland with a tight grip. The constant restructures, the relentless changes in direction, and the poor treatment of our colleagues have driven so many people to the brink. Talented people are leaving in droves and not sticking around to wait for leadership to get it right anymore. The longer this continues, the closer we come to a full collapse. It’s just a matter of time.
