Professors in the Department are very knowledgable in their respective fields and accessible. This creates a very collegiate communal environment. Postdocs and other Assistant researchers in the Biological Sciences Department can feel comfortable with approaching a wide range of professors for advice and insight.

In general, FSU is still in the process of creating a Postdoc support system. So, some of the benefits present at other Universities or Research Institutions are still being assessed for possible implementation. Although, they did recently expand employer health insurance benefits to Postdocs.
