The position helps you get get through Graduate School. Not too bad, not too terrible. It is questionable whether students should be balancing teaching responsibilities as Masters' students, but the responsibility is no doubt helpful.

The compensation is the absolute minimum and will only continue to go down as State and Federal governments devalue humanities-based departments. FSU is particularly in danger of this.
