CEO has no business skills, senior scientists are not invested in future of institute, mentoring, or being part of team, lots of old research that isn't going anywhere, Board doesn't understand organization, organization hasn't evolved to meet changing demands of scientific research and funding. Seems like a merger would be the only path to long term success. There is also a divide between scientists and non-science staff. Really awful culture
