When I joined FourKites, I expected the chaos that comes along with working at a startup. I didn't anticipate the extraordinary level of dysfunction that is caused by the executive team. The executive dysfunction and toxicity permeates throughout the entire organization and has become the FourKites culture. I feel as if individual contributors and middle-managers are caught in the blame game of the executive team. Rather than communicate cross functionally, the CEO sets up meetings with random people to encourage finger pointing and gossiping. Recently, confidential employee data (salary, bonus, shares) leaked, and has caused fights and hostility throughout the entire company. Promotions are random and career progression is almost non-existent. The most challenging part of the culture is that it's getting worse, and there is no way to voice grievance or try to to fix it. It's a very difficult place to show up on a daily basis.

Solid place to work! It's a CSM role so the challenges are customer based and vary greatly but culture and compensation at Fourkites is worth it.

Being a CSM sometimes feels like you bear the weight of both the company and your customers on your shoulders. This is true for CSMs anywhere though and comes with the title.

Do your research and Google something along the lines of: " Project44 Fourkites Supreme Court FreightWaves " Read up on the details of the case, and names involved. Then ask yourself if thats the type of leader you want to work for. Very large brain drain in 2025. The people who knew the product/platform the best have either quit or been laid off this year.
