They did a decent job of communicating, or atleast they were communicating regularly, they just did a very poor job of communicating a complete and honest message.

I was recently selected through a casting call for a CBC show that frantic films was handling. Throughout the casting selection process, compensation was mentioned, but never clarified until I pretty much told them I wasn't interested. What they told me didn't sound like fair pay, but I thought it would be a fun experience and the money wasn't that far off of what it should be. Once they started filming, they kept adding shots, adding hours, asking for more, and never mentioned any increase in compensation. When I brought up these issues they cancelled the shoot, and avoided admitting any responsibility for blatantly lying about the hour requirement. DO NOT AGREE TO DO ANY WORK FOR FRANTIC FILMS WITHOUT A CLEAR WRITTEN CONTRACT. They will add hours. They will not treat you fairly. They will pressure you to meet their needs, while ignoring yours. They were supposed to do a film shoot at my house tomorrow, I'm in the middle of renovations, and have been working hard to try and clear the area they had asked to do the shoot. They did not even have the professional skills to notify me directly and tell me they were cancelling. The people at this company are unprofessional, inconsiderate, and just looking to take advantage of you. If you are to do any work for them, make sure the hours and expectations they demand are written out explicitly in a contract so that you can hold them to their word, and not be constantly pressured to be doing more. They do not value you, they only value the shots they want to get.

Status reports are nonsense, you can completely lie about the work you do and they have no idea. -Incompetent and unskilled CEO. He is a lawyer with no real film and television experience. He claims to have produced projects in the past, but this is not real experience. All of his success has come off the backs of others and luck. Without Frantic Films he wouldn't have the ability or skill to produce anything quality or relevance. -CEO fights the projects everyone knows are worth pursuing, including often times fighting against notes that come directly from broadcasters. He is so arrogant that he will actually go against or disagree with what the broadcaster is asking for. -Negative work culture. Management doesn't care about their employees and in many cases have caused employees to leave the industry completely. -Thousands of dollars wasted by CEO on projects, partnerships, and services no one thinks are worth pursuing. -Bad reputation within the industry. Having Frantic Films on your resume can make it difficult to find work after leaving the company.
