There appears to be an obvious element of nepotism in middle management, where supervisors are related to construction managers and the tradespeople are long time friends with supervisors, therefore those who put in the hard work go unrecognised and are made redundant after project completion. Due to recent growth, there appears to be a number of inexperienced 'project managers' without any formal tertiary education who are placed in charge of significantly large infrastructure projects. This inexperience leads to a dysfunctional workplace where poorly planned tasks take longer, cost more and reduce the productivity and overall morale of the workforce (at least the profit margins are large enough to cover this up).
