Vantaggi
There's a lot of trust to get your work done, and if you are reliable, then you can prettymuch run your own show and don't have a lot of micro-management. You're encouraged to share your work so the company can celebrate your wins together. But, if you're struggling, there's also a lot of support - from teammates to leaders. You're not restricted in who you're allowed to work with or learn from. Working at this company can be hard at times but it is a great career move. The CEO believes everyone deserves a chance. If you are driven enough, he will take time with you to regularly to provide helpful coaching, I have seen many of my colleagues careers impacted greatly by this. If you prove yourself at this company and especially if your work makes an impact (metrics people metrics!! lol) then you will be given a title and compensation to match - it doesn’t matter if you start at the company as entry or mid level. Leadership works way harder than their employees, which is motivating. Big on "ownership mentality" which is backed up by stock options for everyone.. If the company wins, we all win. That's so important to me as someone who has made a big difference at corporations not even to be named in the closing credits.. ugh. The company preaches a somewhat hardcore "winners only" "drive drive drive" theme but in reality they are big softies, very understanding of the learning process, personal and family issues, and very accommodating to different work styles.
Svantaggi
Very fast paced which isn't for everyone. Work-life balance is good in some departments but brutal in others. For a while, the vibe was that a lot of the company felt under-appreciated, but a lot of steps have been taken by leadership and people are feeling a lot better now. It's sad to see people leave but the new team is really awesome and the company feels a lot more fun now. Early startups pivot a decent amount... you learn who does well with change and who doesn't. If you don't communicate well, you might get lost in the shuffle. This is part of the remote challenge but also because everyone is so busy. People who are bad at speaking up, or who don't speak their truth and expect mind readers, will not do well here.
