She will look to find a scapegoat when things go wrong and there is no job security- they fired multiple people abruptly just because sales were down. The company is managed through fear and borderline abusiveness, who needs that?

- Flexible remote work schedule - as long as you are attending scheduled meetings prepared and are engaged and getting your job done no one is worried about what hours a day you're working (which is a huge perk considering most of the team is in different time zones). - Startup mentality - every single team member takes pride in their work and can directly see the fruits of their labor. This has led to a very ambitious and caring team. - The entire team is extremely collaborative, support of new ideas and always open to testing and trying new things.

When I joined Further Food, I didn't necessarily know what to expect. It was a small company with huge ambitions and I took the leap. All I can say is that it was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. While there is an incredible amount of hard work to be done, everyone is always willing to contribute where they can, even if it isn't their direct responsibility. - As the team has grown leadership continues to level up the organization by continuing to clarify responsibilities, clear communication of business priorities, and a willingness to listen to employees and make changes when appropriate. - In a start-up, resources are never what you want, but when we present a clear case for our needs, it never falls on deaf ears and is acted upon in a manner that is best for all. - The flexibility and remote work environment are a great perk to working for Further Food.

Start-ups can be messy and ambiguous which ultimately results in many fire drills and competing priorities. While we can always get better, this has gotten much better in my time with the company. While not a bad thing, the founder's communication style is very direct, which can be challenging for some. I have come to realize the motivations are never personal and are born out of a passion for the business and a desire to reach our goals as a team.
