Some of this is coming off as unfair. You joined & left the company during it's biggest struggle and immediately after its promotion from Small Business. Many did work in shared offices because their work required them to. E.g. The IT team shares a common booth because of similar projects the team will be working on. Accounting works in one spot together since they are often editing and finishing payroll together. "Privacy" can be attained by just taking a step out if it was a call since there is plenty of open space as well. Most of what you do at the company should be business based - Personal issues should not be brought into the office spot and if they were that extreme, the HR team was there to help. The contradiction of your "consistently being watched over" statement comes off as bizarre since the executives are quite busy running around that, speaking with clients, that they often do not get to speak to employees. If you felt you were being watched, it may simply be because they needed something from you urgently or you had made a mistake before and the executive team wanted to make sure the mistake did not happen again. Considering most of the executive team is of South Asian descent, I can see why you assume "they are all family in one way or another" but that in simplicity seems like pure ignorance. The company's CEO & Sr. Vice President are blood brothers, there's no secret behind that. As for the remainder, there is no relation, which also comes off very professionally when the big picture is concerned. Employees of different backgrounds are the ones who have the longest years with the team. Respect must be a common factor and that has been shown or else the company would not have the loyalty it has been receiving from other employees. Sadly, your situation seems to be just "wrong place, wrong time." The company has grown tremendously in just the past 3 months alone in Security & Technology and has been the reason for renovations throughout the office and a boost in employee morale.
