The profit sharing is the best thing about Geico. If you have any decent work experience and good skills, and are middle aged, you'll be miserable. Geico does NOT care about the talents of those already on board. they make choices based on numbers and if you're a college grad, or actively going to college for what THEY want you to study. Other than that they just want you to sit at the phone and stay out of their hair and accept all their horribly chaotic imperfections while they crucify you for a call closing they did not script for you! ( scripts are made for imbeciles that don't know how to talk to people properly..) that is NOT most good claim reps. the micro managing by stooges is intolerable.
Svantaggi
With Geico's new "fast track" to management program for college grads - its chaos. No one with real experience, or REAL aptitude for management or supervisory positions will ever get a chance, and the real workers must endure the 20 somethings with NO real job experience pretending to be important and knowledgeable. Every college grad in the company is promoting - I mean Sales to claims , claims to service - it makes no sense they know nothing! and the HEAVY grad recruiting is just adding to it all. Turn over is so fast in supervisory you are literally on your own while "supervisors" go to basic classes, along with other entry level hires, whole floors are left virtually with no one who really knows anything - on duty. And all the newbies want to re-invent the wheel at Geico - or just run numbers. Talk about ETHICAL issues! I won;t even start. Lots of stupid mistakes, sweeping stuff under the rug, its awful. Their business plan is NOT going to work much longer - I predict mass exodus of customers and employees. I know 10 associates that have gone to Progressive.
