The CEO actively contributes to a hostile work environment. The only thing that the CEO is interested in, is their own interest in what they think makes an interesting game. The CEO says that they won't "micro manage" but will actively interrupt any discussion in an effort to smack good ideas down that would help moving the project forwards. The CEO has a chokehold on creativity & will actively shut down any ideas/features/mechanics suggestion that would help move the game forwards. The CEO is well aware that there are issues within the project but will either ignore it or do nothing about it. The CEO will tell you off for the smallest of reasons. People's time are wasted on unnecessarily long meetings. The game itself has been in development for close to 4 years without funding & without any clear direction. Any suggestion for mechanics or features has to meticulously be documented in such a way where it can take more than a week to complete & when it finally is "done" you get burnt out by the time it gets denied approval. Just because something has a historical background to it, it doesn't mean it translates to interesting game mechanics. That means that history comes first & gameplay second. This company BURNS through talent.
