Vantaggi
I love the idea of Gap. No one in the company expects anyone to take themselves to seriously, and it's usually a fun place to work. One of the best things about the company is the fact they will always hire within. The only time I've seen them look outside the company is if all possibilities from the company have been exhausted. So marketing and merchandising is what you want to do, Gap is the place to start. They are also very community involved, all stores have mandatory community service hours and grants they have to complete every quater.
Svantaggi
The only downfall to the job is the fact Gap has very poor planning skills. Most of the floor sets become sloppy and frustrating, marketing usually arrives late or sometimes is changed at the last minute, and promotions and events are extended or shortened half way through the business day. For someone working with the brand side of the store it is a VERY high stress enviroment. Especially during the holiday season. The company has also elevated all of it's stores credit goals, which in a recession and time of economic turmoil isn't the greatest or easiest plan to execute.
