Vantaggi
The people that I immediately worked with were great and a lot of fun. It was purely the staff that bring positivity even though they are underpaid and extremely undervalued. The work can be really fun and engaging, especially with a good team of people but the positives end there.
Svantaggi
Warning bells did ring a little bit when I heard from several other employees that GlobalData massively under pays their staff and is constantly looking for ways to slash costs at the expense of the welfare of staff. One example is 20 days off is given in the first year however the company takes three days off fro everyone over Christmas so you are left with 17 which is the lowest I have ever received. I got more working in a bar at University. There is absolutely no level of career progression unless a person on the same desk or department moves (even then they externally hire more than give current employees who have been there years a boost). I know of several ex-colleagues that have not received a pay rise or any additional benefits in over 5 years and they are the most dedicated workers I know. Absolutely undervalue their staff. The pay is below average - just look at salary checker. Getting a pay rise is a battle, words of how much are valued will be said but nothing will come of it unless you keep chasing it for months. Budget is used as a reason for lack of pay rises but the higher ups are all on insanely high salaries while the sales team, journalist and analysts are all on salaries way below average. I wouldn't recommend GlobalData for advancing a career, almost in all of their departments you will find an array of other company's that pay reasonably and actually have company benefits. Sometimes we would get pizza once a month but that depended on sales so often there's months without it - might sound a bit silly but as the company offers no benefits it was one of the few things staff enjoyed. They have an awards every year for staff but its all focused on the sales team. They cram you into a tiny conference room and award a few top sales people a trip on the CEOs boat. Working hours would be fine if the wage and holidays were better.
