Honestly I feel bad but I cannot think of anything. I really did not enjoy working here

- Handling of COVID was ignorant and safety was not a concern. People were pressured to go into the office well before it was safe and and when there were cases/potential cases, the company reaction was laughable and didn’t prioritize employee safety. Masks were seen as optional/a joke - zero benefits for contract employees. Not even a single paid sick day. Starbucks has better benefits. - low compensation - terrible hours. Expected you to work OT whenever needed, regardless of hours. Regularly saw people work past midnight - no paid breaks ever - company direction makes no sense. The owner wants it to be a film studio but their main projects are game trailers. Internal creative projects are not given priority, which is fine, but the owner clearly wants that to be the focus and the company actual direction is at odds with that. I don’t think the company knows where it will be in 6 months let alone 5 years so it was impossible to envision a long term future - lots of turnover. Entire production team turned over twice in a year. Key people quit with no notice

Clearly trying to change the way things are run and understandably this takes time but there's clear want to push in the right direction. Giving people the chance to build their own experiences and improving a company from the ground up, you make it your own. Management is very open to listening to issues and come up with ways to improve. Supervision is nice and friendly and I feel like my opinion is valued. Quality of product has jumped a lot from years before and getting more fun projects. Very relaxed atmosphere, love the look of the studio.

Bad location but WFH option is great. Pipeline is a bit of a mess in some areas but what company doesn't have issues in pipe(at least they realize the issue and are actively working on it)? Pay is a bit low when you compare it to big studios, but it's a boutique studio so it's what's to be expected. No bonuses like profit sharing if the company does well in a year. Contractors don't get sick or holiday pay. Can't offer visa sponsoring due to being a small studio, as to be expected but still a shame.
