Good Energy is a disappointment. Given the obvious good intentions to change the energy market and promote green energy, it should be a great place to work. But it isn't. It's chaotic and as a result can be stressful. Following significant restructuring, what's left are isolated teams pulling in different directions, no clear vision or direction and a demoralised staff. Decisions are taken then changed frequently and not communicated enough, so the people on the ground are left unsure what is required of them. Poor decisions made on key processes and systems in the recent past, coupled with a rapidly-changing industry that the company is ill equipped to deal with, have left staff struggling to cope leading to poor customer service which not only affects the bottom line, but also how we feel about ourselves. Other than customer services, most of the company is housed in old, hot and unpleasant offices, which just aren't fit for purpose. To be fair, they've tried to improve the office recently, but that's (in the words of senior management) like putting lipstick on a pig. There's talk of a new office in a few years, but it seems hard to believe they'll get to that point. In the meantime, it just adds to the unpleasant nature of work at Good Energy.
