Vantaggi

Compensation and benefits Student population

Svantaggi

Administration Clinical re-organization Constant staff shortage leaving clinical providers stuck to do coverage rather than provide actual clinical services Limited opportunities for growth If you are a clinical provider you will be told what to do by the education division or administration who do not understand your role Additional job duties leave little to no room for clinical job duties Not recommended, especially for a newer clinician (the money isn’t worth it)

Vantaggi

Great teammates/staff at every level! Supportive and Ethical Administration including folks in HR and Finance. Well-kept facilities. Staff live the mission for the most part. The work can be hard, but most staff are there for the right reasons. Great benefits!

Svantaggi

Like all Human Services organizations, they tend to struggle to be competitive on pay.

Vantaggi

The Guild for Human Services is staffed with people who genuinely care about helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live fulfilling lives. The employees are supportive of one another, and I haven't seen any instance of neglect.

Svantaggi

With that being said, this job will physically and emotionally exhaust you on most days. Yes, they are fun moments with the students. However, you will be forced to restrain students who are ill-behaved every single week. Students will often refuse to follow directions unless prompted. The educational quality at the school is rather mediocre. To be fair, this isn't the fault of the educators or The Guild. Most of these students don't have the capabilities to undergo a rigorous learning process, and the teacher assistants are glorified babysitters. They rarely learn anything in the classroom, and social interaction amongst the students is entirely nonexistent in some classrooms. As a result, this job can be immensely frustrating at times.
