Vantaggi
GAC has a more entrepreneurial culture than a Lockheed or Boeing. Task assignments are not as rigidly divided within a department like they are at the bigger aerospace primes. It makes it easy to get experience at things you haven't done before, and build more skills. Young engineers can get good assignments that would have taken you years to get anywhere else, as long as you're willing to jump in and work hard. You usually have to work harder than you would elsewhere, but paid overtime is available more often.
Svantaggi
People tend to work five to ten years here and then leave, taking tribal knowledge with them, and what they did while they were here is usually not documented well. As a result, the best way to know why something was done a certain way is to ask whoever worked on it before, and if that person has left the company you have to reinvent the wheel, and then you only find out later the company has already been down that road before and you wasted time and effort. 4/10 schedule and overtime are bad for people with young kids. If you bring your spouse with you to Savannah, she'll often have trouble finding a good job because not as many good employers in this area as a big city.
