Vantaggi

It was a fun first job. I was able to transfer between departments until I found something I enjoyed and became very good at. The hours were flexible enough to allow me to go to school during the same time and the benefits are great. There are locations everywhere, and transferring between stores is 'claimed' to be fairly easy enough. They have great training programs and provide lots of useful help when you are training on the job. There is pretty much a department for everyone, from stocking/labor, to cashiers, to business centers and photo labs. They are not going anywhere anytime soon, and are fairly lenient with who they will hire.

Svantaggi

There is practically no advancement opportunities unless you start off with a degree in Business and walk the Management Path from the beginning. At times it may be hard to gain extra hours, and becoming a 'Full-Time' partner is hard - the actual reasons and path to obtain said status is cloudy at best, and promises to move/add/change hours can be delayed for months, if not years. The environment in a store is very dependent on the people working there, and that can be directly affected by those in charge. If the UD or SD (unit director or store director) is not doing their job successfully, it will carry down through the 'Partners' and affect the customer's experience.

Svantaggi

NO FULL-TIME OFFER! The recruitment process at H-E-B Digital is deeply frustrating and appears to lack integrity. Despite having relevant internship experience and receiving positive feedback during the interview process, I found that the company’s hiring strategy seems entirely reliant on prioritizing individuals recently laid off from FAANG companies. It feels as though they are not genuinely interested in developing new talent or giving equal consideration to qualified candidates who don't fit that specific profile. Advice for Management: Be transparent with applicants regarding your hiring criteria. It is demoralizing to waste time and emotional energy interviewing when the process feels like a box-checking exercise. If you are not actually hiring, do not string candidates along with positive feedback. The current approach reflects poorly on the company’s values and brand. Recommendation: If you are not a recent layoff from a major tech firm, I would suggest looking elsewhere. It appears to be their business model to prioritize those specific candidates over others, regardless of your personal qualifications or positive performance during interviews.
