Ancient Tech Stacks. Lack of team unity. Direct Manager not technically capable of understanding complex software issues. Not welcoming to people who did not start their career at HEB out of college. Poor onboarding. No documentation for their systems. No training of systems and was expected to reverse engineer everything. If you are looking at working with the latest tech stacks on cloud this is not the place for you. There are engineers that want to learn new things but leadership in the team kills their desire to learn by not allowing them to give feedback on issues and killing their ideas without listening to them. Team leaders are more out for themselves instead to make the team better.

The coworkers are great to work with and the overall environment is highly collaborative. If you get a cool management team, the job is truly a great experience. It is also very easy to transfer to other departments or different locations if you want a change of pace.

Svantaggi

Management lacks consistency because you end up getting new managers every 6 months or so, which disrupts the workflow. The hours are just okay, nothing amazing easy to pick up hours,so manageable.

NO FULL-TIME OFFER! The recruitment process at H-E-B Digital is deeply frustrating and appears to lack integrity. Despite having relevant internship experience and receiving positive feedback during the interview process, I found that the company’s hiring strategy seems entirely reliant on prioritizing individuals recently laid off from FAANG companies. It feels as though they are not genuinely interested in developing new talent or giving equal consideration to qualified candidates who don't fit that specific profile. Advice for Management: Be transparent with applicants regarding your hiring criteria. It is demoralizing to waste time and emotional energy interviewing when the process feels like a box-checking exercise. If you are not actually hiring, do not string candidates along with positive feedback. The current approach reflects poorly on the company’s values and brand. Recommendation: If you are not a recent layoff from a major tech firm, I would suggest looking elsewhere. It appears to be their business model to prioritize those specific candidates over others, regardless of your personal qualifications or positive performance during interviews.
