The Tech Stack is fairly modern if you're working on a new application, the developers are almost all great to work with, work-life balance is decent, and it can be an awesome place to work IF you get a good manager.

The main problem with HEB Digital is that there are some really horrible managers and HR doesn't seem to care. Managers at HEB can block you from moving to another team and there's no time limit to the block. So if you get stuck with an abusive manager, they can effectively keep you on the abusive team until you get sick enough of it to quit. I've never worked at a company that allows this sort of behavior and I was shocked when it happened.

The coworkers are great to work with and the overall environment is highly collaborative. If you get a cool management team, the job is truly a great experience. It is also very easy to transfer to other departments or different locations if you want a change of pace.

Svantaggi

Management lacks consistency because you end up getting new managers every 6 months or so, which disrupts the workflow. The hours are just okay, nothing amazing easy to pick up hours,so manageable.

NO FULL-TIME OFFER! The recruitment process at H-E-B Digital is deeply frustrating and appears to lack integrity. Despite having relevant internship experience and receiving positive feedback during the interview process, I found that the company’s hiring strategy seems entirely reliant on prioritizing individuals recently laid off from FAANG companies. It feels as though they are not genuinely interested in developing new talent or giving equal consideration to qualified candidates who don't fit that specific profile. Advice for Management: Be transparent with applicants regarding your hiring criteria. It is demoralizing to waste time and emotional energy interviewing when the process feels like a box-checking exercise. If you are not actually hiring, do not string candidates along with positive feedback. The current approach reflects poorly on the company’s values and brand. Recommendation: If you are not a recent layoff from a major tech firm, I would suggest looking elsewhere. It appears to be their business model to prioritize those specific candidates over others, regardless of your personal qualifications or positive performance during interviews.
