Vantaggi

Great employee benefits (discounts on food products, and excellent medical plans). Weekly pay. HEB does great deal of community service. If you are lucky enough to get full time employment, the time off is amazing (especially to be retail).

Svantaggi

To be honest, I believe many of the people writing these reviews are lying. I think HEB tells its employees to write these reviews. HEB is the most political place I have ever worked. In order to receive promotions or for your word to be valued, you have to be well liked. I personally saw management pick on employees they dislike so much to the point where those employees were unjustly terminated. All the while, I witnessed the "favorites" constantly break policies and these "favorites" to date are still employed with the company. Also, you have to endure a huge amount of emotional and verbal abuse from co-worker, managers, and customers alike. There is no one for you to turn to. If you try to report these issues, the retaliation the company claims to not put up with always occurs.

Svantaggi

NO FULL-TIME OFFER! The recruitment process at H-E-B Digital is deeply frustrating and appears to lack integrity. Despite having relevant internship experience and receiving positive feedback during the interview process, I found that the company’s hiring strategy seems entirely reliant on prioritizing individuals recently laid off from FAANG companies. It feels as though they are not genuinely interested in developing new talent or giving equal consideration to qualified candidates who don't fit that specific profile. Advice for Management: Be transparent with applicants regarding your hiring criteria. It is demoralizing to waste time and emotional energy interviewing when the process feels like a box-checking exercise. If you are not actually hiring, do not string candidates along with positive feedback. The current approach reflects poorly on the company’s values and brand. Recommendation: If you are not a recent layoff from a major tech firm, I would suggest looking elsewhere. It appears to be their business model to prioritize those specific candidates over others, regardless of your personal qualifications or positive performance during interviews.
