Background: I've been a Project Accountant for almost 10 years and have only ever had positive feedback from my co-workers and employers. Here are some things said to me during my 6 weeks at HDR: During my interview, I asked why this position was open. They said they were extremely busy so they're hiring 5 new people. The truth was that the position is a revolving door and I was the third person to leave. I was told multiple times by multiple people it takes AT LEAST a year to get up to speed. Then, 4 weeks in they were telling me I wasn't learning fast enough. Mind you, the tasks they gave me were done, just not done fast enough for them ONE MONTH IN. They told me who to ask for help for each project they dumped on me, then 6 weeks in they told me I could only ask for help from people "above" me, even though the people "above" me were referring me to people "below" me for help. I was told I was lowering morale among the PA 1s because I was asking them for help while making more money than them. They were the only ones with the time and knowledge to help me. Basically, you will have huge, messy projects dumped on you while denying you consistent onboarding and training because everyone is so overloaded. Then they will start degrading you until you quit. They start with telling you one thing and then slowly change the expectations as time goes on. I was the third person to go through the Transportation PA II revolving door. GOOD LUCK!
