People laugh when you say you were on until 8 because that can be early for them to log off. You’ll receive emails some weeks until midnight and start again at 5 am. But “it all evens out” but it really doesn’t. The most shocking thing to me was for travel, which everyone has to travel, is that if you don’t travel during “working hours” you don’t get paid. You literally have to travel a for work and don’t get paid outside 8-5. So if a flight is delayed or you have to be at the airport at 6 am for check in, you don’t get paid for it. Most offices have you pay for parking on site, many locations are over $100 for the month.
