The department that I worked in felt like a family. The faculty and staff really wanted to see students succeed. The staff made sure that students had no issues with registration or holds. The professors in my department were world leaders in their area of research.

The bureaucratic process is tiresome. The school relies too much on paper and not enough on technology. There is a lot of paper changing hands between departments. It was common for paperwork to get lost. The process for getting business done can move at snails pace.
