Vantaggi

I do not have any pros to share from my time working at Happie.

Svantaggi

I worked at Happie a couple of years ago at this point and recently they came accross my LinkedIn feed, so I decided to check out the glassdoor reviews to see if anything had changed since I left. From what I gather, people are having the same experience I had, and it appears that management has not learned anything through the years. They were not transparent back then, and many reviews talk about lack of transparency now. Executive Management was publicly disrespectful to employees back then, and it appears they still are now. They were posting fake reviews and creating faked LinkedIn profiles to look like they had employees back then, and it seems they are still forcing employees to create fake reviews. Do not think that these people will change their ways... they have not changed in two years, and they have previous failed startups to prove that they will always be unsuccessful.

Vantaggi

The people here are smart. You will learn a lot very quickly. The structure is flat. Efforts are made to create a strong culture.

Svantaggi

This was my first position out of college. I learned a lot, but my self-esteem and confidence suffered. Founders Jennifer and Connie were very hands-on in educating me about the business and the industry, but they were unforgiving. Leniency is not something I ever expected, but at times I left of the office absolutely shaken as a result of a comment made by Connie or Jennifer about me or my performance, sometimes in front of my then-coworkers. On my final day, I exited the office questioning my career path and my own competence. Jennifer and Connie use negative reinforcement and the fear of (very frequent) layoffs to spur performance in their employees. It works for some, but not for me. I took their negative feedback very hard. When I decided to leave and found a new job with very similar responsibilities, I was amazed to find that I was not incompetent. I was amazed to find that coworkers could be a support system, rather than the competition. That said, Jennifer and Connie and my experience at Happie taught me a great deal--lessons that still benefit me today. Was it worth it? The verdict is out.
