I've really enjoyed my time at HeadCheck Health. Here are some reasons why:
- The executives (Harrison and Kerry) care a lot about the development of their employees. I've been asked plenty of times what skill-sets in particular I want to develop, and they consider this in their decision making
- The company takes health and wellness very seriously; they emphasize an active balanced lifestyle and flexible hours. Most importantly, it's not all talk; they actually follow through with their values!
- The company is small enough that everyone knows everyone - this gives people in completely different roles chances to interact and learn from each other. In particular, all technical and business team members communicate directly to each other (instead of always going through upper-management). This creates a really open environment!
- The small and tightly knit tech team gives a chance for the junior developers to learn directly from the seniors; that is, learning for all members of the team is taken seriously

- The cons are similar to any small startup. As a software engineer, you won't become as familiar with 'big-tech' processes and management styles like we see at Google / Amazon / etc
