Vantaggi

Great people and talent, cool environment, resume builder. Successfully ran corporation.

Svantaggi

Don't believe the work/life balance sell; you will eventually be pressured to work as long and hard as you would with any other company that would pay SIGNIFICANTLY more. They may even say that you'll be able to move anywhere within the company - again, this is a lie. This would only work if it convenient for your manager or Hyland. It will have nothing to do with your passions or interests. Be ready for your manager to be unqualified - most managers are, but are simply dating, related or friends with the right person that landed them that position. Pay is terrible - you'll never be able to save for a house or pay your bills unless you're in Sales. But even then, you're still going to be vastly underpaid for the industry, and then be told how lucky you are to even be there. That was my favorite part. You have to drink the Kool-Aid. If you even hesitate for one moment to express any type of excitement when they slide that offer letter across the table for less than what you were making before, or in any situation involving Hyland, you will be questioned as a "team player" and more than likely pushed out. Hyland will swear that they are innovative, that they welcome change and revolution, but nothing could be further from the truth. You are there to spin the wheel, continuing down the path that has already been created. If you want to make a difference, don't go to Hyland Software. You will leave frustrated, deterred and hungry. The worst part, you'll be expected to do it with a smile on your face. When you strip away the parties and the amenities that are largely discouraged from being utilized anyways, Hyland is like any other company. They want to minimize expenses and maximize profits. Hyland prints money, in addition to operating VERY efficiently. But you'll never know it unless you're involved in the right meetings (which you won't be). They claim your family, but will not hesitate to withhold tens of thousands of dollars from you that would obviously play a significant impact on improving your lifestyle. At this stage of their existence, Hyland is really just an exclusive clique. Sure, there's Hyland as a whole - but within Hyland, behind closed doors in the meetings and discussions that people do not see on television or in the Fortune magazine articles they campaign for inclusion, are the nastiest of cliques. An exclusive club of people that ARE making all the money, receiving all of the shares... extorting their employees for pennies while they live the life of royalty. Don't believe their hype. Overall, you might receive some decent training and mentorship. Just realize that Hyland Software isn't the end all be all that they will try and make you believe. Understand that there are many great companies out there, companies even better than Hyland. I was happy to leave Hyland and join one of them, almost doubling my pay while receiving a REAL work/life balance, casual attire, etc. Pretty much all of the same benefits that mattered to me in the first place. Hyland is just a stepping stone - for everyone else that will never be in that exclusive club. Use it accordingly, and don't forget it.

Vantaggi

Work/life balance Great people to work with on daily basis Ability to work remote (US based) Plenty of development opportunities I've been given the tools I need to do my job and be innovative I have an amazing manager and team that I lead

Svantaggi

I am restricted on where I can hire new employees right now. There are a lot of competing priorities with similar deadlines which can be stressful, but the days go by fast.

Vantaggi

Remote or hybrid capability. Usually a flexible schedule.

Svantaggi

Constant quiet firing. They've figured out how to avoid public disclosures quite well. Every month they're whacking batches of 20~30 employees - esp. if you were in a higher pay band or part of an acquired company. There's constant leadership churn as of late - not that leadership was ever that great, but the clownshow has more makeup on the pigs now. If you were part of an acquired company, the stench of nepotism was constant. Hyland doesn't provide legitimate training or certification assistance for everyone. Their products would fail any sort of security scan by an AI tool too. If you're a customer, buyer beware.
