Micromanagement was limited and allowed me to work at my own pace and schedule for the most part. Managers were very flexible with the concept of “working when it’s best for you”.
Most of the staff were friendly and willing to help me if I had questions about something I was unfamiliar with. Underwriting worked with a great stop loss tool that made me super productive and was easy to learn and use.
Ability to form great relationships with my managers who always wanted me to succeed
Lots of development opportunities in terms of professional designations and continuing education that is fully paid for by the company (with manager approval). Attended a lot of great conferences and webinars.
Svantaggi
Work from home arrangements were not viewed favorably even though most senior people rarely came in or were based in different locations throughout the country.
Too many people had titles that did not deserve them.
Older organization with lots of folks who have been around 20+ years and set in there way of doing things.
Slow to promote within company has made this specific role turnover high.
A lot of the time we were kept in the dark about our work from home situation during the pandemic. They would issue company wide memos saying we could WAH till X date with little communication until two or three weeks before X date arrived.
