No guidance. Orientation was a trial by fire. Training was on-the-go and not comprehensive. Goals were never clear. Criteria for accepting or writing up a project were inconsistent. Project mishaps or errors were on the project lead, even if caused by executive decisions. Management failed to retain talented staff for an extended time, and granted you the bare minimum that labor law required, sometimes less. Project staff feedback was often deflected, ignored, or simply rejected. Discussion of increase in benefits or pay/bonuses was taboo. The President as well as the CEO demonstrated poor managerial skill, sometimes even causing expensive legal trouble that was taken out of bonuses. The company is family-owned, and in spite of general success from project staff, employees were fired, bonuses were slashed and pay raises were limited. If management is looking for areas to cut, perhaps they should reconsider the salaries they're giving themselves. I see a ceiling put over the company on purpose by management, as any employee who gains enough experience to request better conditions was either fired or quit out of frustration. It's best to steer clear.
