Vantaggi
Middle management team are great to work with and have had to band together against the Cons (see below) at IU Auditorium. Retirement benefits are good once they vest after 3 years. Classes are available at a reduced rate. Some shows and artists are fun.
Svantaggi
Revolving door in some departments because of one highly toxic person in executive management who has been there for 20+ years. During my tenure other IU departments even began to comment about what they noticed regarding how the department was run. "HR" for the Auditorium team (who is actually an Auditorium employee who doesn't do HR full time) allows executive management to not follow IUHR protocols, such as not getting an exit interview when requested and putting employees on PIPs that do not have an expiration date or tangible goals. The same staff member advised me to drop a complaint about deviation from IUHR policy because it wasn't worth it. Compensation is low, even for university arts/venues positions. TLDR: Unless you like being gaslit and working long hours in a highly toxic environment, I wouldn't recommend it there.
