Svantaggi
The biggest concern is how management and HR team handled the recent West Bengal Assembly Election period. As per government guidelines, employees are supposed to receive paid leave to participate in voting. However, HR team allegedly circulated internal communication to leadership, indirectly pressuring teams to continue working. Instead of granting proper leave, employees were asked to work from home on election day, with the expectation that work would continue as usual. While some were told they could step out to vote, they were still expected to complete a full workday, which defeats the purpose of providing time for civic participation. This created confusion and unnecessary chaos across teams. Employees were put in a difficult position—either work (even on a day meant for voting) or apply for leave. If someone didn’t have leave balance, salary deductions were enforced. This is not only demotivating but also raises serious concerns about employee rights and ethical practices. Previously, the company used to provide leave on election days, making this sudden shift even more disappointing. It gives the impression that the HR team is not acting in the interest of employees, but rather focusing on impressing senior management. The work culture in such situations becomes extremely rigid and controlling, leaving employees feeling undervalued and unheard.
