Toxic combination of incompetence and arrogance at many levels, with low levels of professionalism, starting at the top. Overall a quality of work that doesn’t add value. Always managing client crises as a result of poor work delivered and we were expected to put up with unacceptable behaviour from clients too. The company rarely addressed it. Long/unsociable hours seen as the only way to success. Many are early career/first time consultants/new to the UK. As a result, more experienced/senior staff can say that ICC is what ‘good’ looks like and ‘this is how it is’. Many are burnt out or unhappy. Endemic poor behaviour, culture and people practices (especially poor management that includes bullying behaviour and explicit lying and gaslighting to cover it up) alongside a limited understanding of/interest in supporting or developing people. High turnover and people leaving suddenly/without explanation. Misguided belief that away days and free food make it a good place to work. Limited pay transparency and lies also told about how performance, pay and reward really work. Promotion process is a black box, again lacking transparency.
