Other poor reviews are accurate: problematic culture perpetuated by a leadership lacking in EQ and an unwillingness to hear and action feedback. Overworking is celebrated and modelled as the pathway to progression. Raising project delivery risks or people/culture issues are labeled as issues of ‘resilience’ in the person raising them. The most senior leaders openly discuss and discredit staff in open plan offices. The business model is also troubling, centred on selling expensive transformation plans to struggling councils without the credentials or capacity to deliver, due to the lack of appropriate internal operating model/resourcing structures and project planning capabilities. What is committed to the client is often irresponsible, with junior resources working ‘secret overtime’ to deliver to deadlines due to a fear of being called inefficient and not meeting the demands of their grade should they push back. This company would suit lone-wolf types with specialist interests in regeneration or some aspects of social care (but there is heavy emphasis on assuring savings plans) and not a junior to mid-level consultant or someone moving over from industry who hopes to learn consulting skills and work in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
