Growing company with some opportunities for advancement

The company has failed to keep up with the growth over the years. They offer no training for new employees, the technology is very outdated, some managers and supervisors are not qualified, lack people skills and play favorites. Conflict among departments is encouraged and there is no unity or collaboration. If you have a good idea, you learn to keep it to yourself and not bother your superiors with it. Even if they pretend to listen, it will go nowhere. I've seen some unethical practices at multiple levels in the organization. A lot of times the focus is on hiding the problems or covering up in order to make your boss look good in front of their boss and so on. That's all you need to advance and become a favorite. Very low morale and high turnover rate. People are overworked and forced into overtime and volunteer projects.

Just this year we have made investments and launched people leadership training with the focus of developing high impact leaders that focus on developing their teams, providing effective feedback and increase employee performance. As a company, we know this is a priority and see people leadership training as a “must have” in how we develop leaders going forward. Going forward, we are enhancing our new hire technical and foundational training to improve the first-year experience. We are defining metrics and assessing overall effectiveness based on employee feedback. With the Millennium Trust “Ideas House” we encourage all employees to share their ideas around ways to improve processes, client service, and the employee experience. We had a number of great ideas submitted this year and have implemented a few of them already. As a company that encourages all employees to “Do Right” - we take that very seriously. This means acting with integrity, being accountable, and trust is non-negotiable in how we work with our clients and employees. Our tremendous growth will continue and our focus is on the overall employee experience. You say “treat them like an asset,” I say treat them as our most important asset.
