-Very, very poor management at mid to senior level. Lots of people of retirement age who enjoy having a little kingdom to manage, taking personal power trips on junior employees. This varies from throwing temper tantrums over typos to forbidding their department from speaking to anyone in other departments. High-level management is working to try and change this, but a reluctance to hold long-term employees responsible for their behavior leads to a great deal of dissatisfaction and high employee turnover.
-No internal HR department, which limits how day-to-day problems can be dealt with.
-Strong internal disdain for customers, which can lead to poor customer service at times.
-Many customers are unable to use technology, which can lead to frustration when trying to help them. (For example, a huge number of customers couldn't understand how to navigate a website without help, and many didn't know how to burn data to CDs/flash drives or use a scanner for sending images.)
-Actual duties are tedious, boring and deeply repetitive. Not for you if you crave variety in your daily tasks.
