This is a great place to work at if you:
a. have no personal worth.
b. hate having free time
c. love being passed up over in favor of the director’s favorites.
Employees are forced to pick up 20 hours of overtime a month and will get mandated overtime daily. Management is a joke, with the vast majority of the ones in power coming from Lakewood PD - they ONLY have the PD’s interest in mind.
Managers have told employees “Get used to not seeing your family” when argued with referencing mandated overtime.
The board just voted down FAMLI; state funded medical leave for employees. Another example how they care for their employees very little.
The culture is very toxic. Management has tainted all employees with a sense of “tell on your buddy for rewards”. This hostile work environment alleviates, though, when all of management is comfy at home while everyone else is mandated overtime on the weekend.
The director is a FIRED (not retired) chief of police. He has never answered a 911 call or non-emergency call yet imposes unjust rules and policies for employees (with ZERO understanding of actual floor operations).
Promotions are given to those who are favored by management (a definite plus if you worked for or dispatch for Lakewood PD)!
Oh, and we’re not ADA compliant. Our elevator hasn’t worked in 6+ months - we have pregnant, health-risk, and elderly employees who need this elevator option - Jeffcom does not care.
