* Helping Dogs * Select volunteers are lovely

Svantaggi

* Manager will not allow anything, I wasn't aloud to complete tasks that were actually set out on my job description. * Manager will tell you off for doing jobs set out in your job description * You will not get support and few one to ones to help you progress. * Managers are kept on a pedal stool, you can't do things because you'll get fired but the store manager is aloud to do those things. * Communication is low, if you raise concerns these are not passed on to the needed staff member. * Certain volunteers are there to get you in trouble * You are not aloud to not accept donations even when this becomes a huge health and safety problem ( fire safety) * They do not care for supervisors, you will not be invited to anything even when the manager is. * Manager books every half term off and the rest in the summer holidays but you will struggle booking any holiday off for yourself.

Excellent welfare considerations for dogs in their care. Advocate +R and force free training methods. Closed kennel policy to avoid stress for dogs. Easy going management.

Svantaggi

Lack of room for growth, training or further opportunities in developing career. Little to no CPD. Small team which can make it intense at times. Breed intake bias. Questionable euthanasia policy/process. Salary. Lack of diversity.

-Working with dogs everyday -Variety in the role (dog care, reception, customer interfacing, vet appointments)

Svantaggi

-Unfriendly and unprofessional team. Some staff were bullies. No support -Lack of progression (felt very repetitive) -Long, draining days for minimum wage pay (9-hour days). -Unpaid breaks (rarely got a full break) -Lack of organisation (management didn't keep on top of training) -Poor time management (rarely got to finish on time) -Very high turnover (didn't surprise me!)
