Vantaggi

It is an on-your-feet job, so you stay active. You work with a team, which can be nice if you all get along. Manager is understanding to an extent. Good benefit package and 401k match. The hospital environment is generally friendly and lively. On-call pay is time and a half. Clean scrubs. Coffee machine.

Svantaggi

Very mentally and physically draining. You don't want to do anything at the end of the shift. You work primarily in the OR and Sterile Processing Department. The OR is it's own jungle, dealing with surgeons, nurses, techs, patients. Sterile Processing is mundane and repetitive, but can be calming at times. The management is not up-to-par. There were a lot of discrepancies between how they act with you upfront and how your opinion is valued behind closed doors. Not very much room for growth within the position. If you work the swing shift, there is no shift differential even though Georgetown gives a universal shift diff to it's evening employees...Crazy, right?

Vantaggi

2 weeks vacation, 180 hours of yearly sick time. The HSA benefits were good for my family of 3. Exposure to the Healthcare industry.

Svantaggi

The management is very dishonest. They are known to sexually harrass employees and will work you to the bone with a promise of a fake promotion if you take on extra work. You will not get promoted for hard work or for taking on any extra work, you will not get promoted for your loyalty and commitment to your position as an essential healthcare worker or for exceeding or meeting your yearly review expectations only if you're a favorite of the management and keep your mouth shut about inappropriate conversations you might get promoted and that's a big maybe. If you show signs of prosperity or that you live comfortably they will not promote you. If you voice concerns about unfair promotions and tactics they will find a way to create bogus fake write ups and when u contest them they never respond. Management promised me at least 3 different promotions but the management is disingenuous they used me for the very heavy work loads (50 emails and calls a day working 35 hours overtime every two weeks for 7 years] and after 7 years of working me to the bone and suffering injuries due to this position they will find a way to terminate you because half of the people that work as case Managers are currently on disability paid leave for the inhumane work environment they created. This place is walking labor law violation stay far away, the sexual harassment by so called management to peers has been well documented. I've never worked at a place where they will lie to your face about promoting you and give you awards for most valuable colleague people's choice award letters of commendation and then when you're fed up about being lied to about promotions and voice your concerns they fire you for fake reasons. In 7 years management refused to create a career development plan for me each time I asked the reason why I was told I didnt need one because im so tenured I just need to apply to get promoted. After 4 trys it didnt happen, when I voiced my concerns they let me go for fake reasons. They have the worst HR and I mean the worst. They are unprofessional and will not respond to any rebuttals or refutes to bogus claims made against you also they speak to you disrespectfully like youre a child. I got into a near fatal car accident and had a severe concussion omw to work i remember calling my supervisor and telling her what happend and then I went into the hospital for a week to recover my 1st day back at work HR called a meeting and literally yelled at me for not telling them about my accident even though I told my manager but guess she didnt tell HR about mu accident. Like i said Stay far away.
