The students are great, staff is warm and inviting, and the facilities at my campus were newly renovated.

Work-life balance is essentially nonexistent. The amount that your coaches and admin expect from you, especially for self-contained teachers, is ridiculous. You have fairly minimal support for things like behavior which gets easier with time, but then you are micromanaged about content to no end. Content is given to you and leaves essentially no room for creativity which gets really boring for you and the kids. Overall, the people who have taught at Kipp for years are frankly used to workplace abuse and overworking. It’s not sustainable for most people long term.

At the same time, there can be a lack of clarity around role expectations. Responsibilities assigned by leadership may shift or expand over time, which can make it difficult to maintain a consistent workload. While this can provide opportunities to grow and take on new challenges, it can also lead to imbalance if not clearly defined. Compensation and role alignment could also be improved. As responsibilities evolve, there is not always a clear structure in place to ensure that pay and expectations remain aligned. Greater transparency in this area would help build trust and long-term satisfaction.
