Some terrible people in senior positions: toxic, nasty, incompetent. No idea how they got there. Some nepotism perhaps. Occasional bullying happens in project roles, lots of needless pressure and bad behaviour which goes unchallenged. Middle management disconnected from everything. Most managers have no idea about how anything but the development works Everything is tech or development led. On some projects there's only a thin veneer of GDS to satisfy the gatekeepers. Ultimately it's about driving as much dev as possible out of each project. Until lockdown you were expected to be on client site, even if that meant a 2-hour commute, and even if there was no value added by you being there. It is about bums on seats.
