Vantaggi

Kaplan is a great place to build skills early in your career, at least at the field level. Kaplan tends to hire young, which does mean turnover, but also means you can get your feet wet as a manager sooner than you would at other companies. After several years as a marketing manager for Kaplan, I was able to get interviews at other companies fairly quickly. The people I encountered at Kaplan were great almost across the board - intelligent and fun, almost entirely in the 22-35 year-old range. Generous time off policy (I had 3 weeks) and pretty good benefits too.

Svantaggi

The downsides are: Schedule: Field employees work long hours and are expected to work weekends and evenings as needed. This typically wasn't too bad, but there were periods where I worked 3 Saturdays in a row and didn't get a different day of the week off. Working until 7pm is typical, and you can expect to be pretty busy for the majority of your day. On the flip side, you do have some flexibility throughout the week. Pay: i'm sure this has been covered in other reviews, but Kaplan pays under-market. I started as a Marketing Manager at $32K, yikes. Type of work: Marketing managers do a lot of substantial, higher-level work, but they're expected to also double as grassroots workhorses. It's not atypical to be asked to spend 10 hours of your week handing out fliers or putting up posters on a local college campus. This gets old real quick and made me feel under-utilized.

Vantaggi

Remote and flexible. Good culture from higher up but team morale is down.

Svantaggi

Turning more salesy than helping students. Too much focus on hitting budget.
