Leafy campus, not far from major English cities. Staffordshire is a beautiful county. The university has world-class sports facilities. The university has a lot of potential to be a top-class university focused on long-running specialisms such as biotech and the environment but senior management and academics use the university as a stepping stone to bigger things.
Svantaggi
The university is notoriously bad at paying its sessional staff properly or on time. Standards vary wildly between departments. Some are flush with cash, others are under-resourced, under-staffed and mismanaged. Too much of the university's money is spent on vanity projects and trying to grow the university in an unrealistic and unsustainable manner.
