Lower pay than MPS teacher scale. Shorter holidays than state school teachers. Longer school days than state school teachers. No contact from anyone above HoD unless something has gone wrong. More meetings about business targets than education focused on meetings. Zero promotion prospects for classroom teachers.

The teachers who work here are friendly, supportive and genuinely passionate about teaching. Many go above and beyond despite the very high workload. Working from home can also be a benefit, as it reduces direct interaction with management, which is a bonus as I really wouldn’t be able to deal with these people face to face.

Poor management and HR practices that do not appear to value good teachers or their wellbeing. Staff often feel disposable, and significant pressure is placed on already overworked teachers. Many decisions from leadership lack clear rationale. I would not recommend working here. The pay is not commensurate with the workload, which continues to increase. Staff should also be cautious when raising concerns about workload; while management and HR may initially appear supportive, requests for help can quickly lead to being placed on disciplinary or support plans for “not meeting expectations.”
